HOSA Cares

HOSA Cares is a NEW state level program that aims to encourage Virginia HOSA chapters to participate in service projects that address needs of the local community and beyond. This program allows chapters to determine which organizations to support and awareness activities they have a desire to participate in throughout the year. The only requirement is that the service and organization are health-related.

Service is one of the core values of HOSA and similar to the HOSA Service Project, the HOSA Cares program is designed to provide Chapter Recognition to exemplary HOSA chapters that have strived to make a positive change within their local community, state, and world.

The HOSA Cares program now encompasses the Color Awareness Program. Did you know extending awareness for health-related issues and causes is another form of service? Members that participate in awareness activities or other HOSA Cares service projects with their local chapter can still count those hours towards the Barbara James Service Award as long as the activity meets all requirements indicated in the BJSA Event Guidelines!
